The electricity generated can be used to power electrical appliances in the home or any excess over the current demand is exported and sold back to Powergen.

It can also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by an average of 1.5 tonnes per year, an average 20% reduction per household, a real contribution towards tackling the effects of global warming. For this reason Micro CHP has been included in the DTI's consultation on Microgeneration and the forthcoming Low Carbon buildings programme, a major focus of the resource05 conference.
