The Energy Saving Trust was set up after the 1992 Rio Earth Summit and is a non-profit organisation, funded by government and the private sector.
We work with households, business and the public sector to achieve the sustainable use of energy and to cut carbon dioxide emissions, one of the key contributors to climate change. We will do this by:
- Encouraging a more efficient use of energy
- Stimulating the demand and supply of cleaner fuelled vehicles
- Promoting the use of small-scale renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind
We offer information and technical guidance on energy efficiency standards for the housing industry and provide an integrated package of measures for all aspects of new build and refurbishment. We also provide tools and training to those involved in the design, construction and refurbishment of UK domestic housing.
